StereoLift Live Consumer Terms of Use
Version: 27 September 2026
1. Provider, scope and eligibility
StereoLift Live is provided by:
StereoLift – Dr. Marvin Weigand
Lammertstraße 15–19
63075 Offenbach am Main
Germany
Support: support@stereolift.live
Legal: legal@stereolift.live
These Terms govern the StereoLift Live account and online service, the Meta Quest companion app, device authorisation, access profiles, entitlement and usage control, security and support functions. The separate Desktop Software Licence governs installation and use of the desktop/server software.
The current consumer offer is directed to adults aged 18 or older in Germany for private, non-commercial use. Accounts may be provisioned or enabled by StereoLift. There is no right to receive an account, a particular access profile or access for a particular period unless an express package term says otherwise.
2. Agreement and access profiles
An account may be provisioned and an access profile may be assigned before an agreement is concluded. Requesting or exchanging a magic link, signing in, installing or opening an app, or seeing an assigned profile does not by itself conclude an agreement or create a payment obligation.
On the first authenticated account visit for which no base agreement is recorded, the Access & plans page presents these Terms and the Desktop Software Licence in a form that can be opened and saved. The base agreement is concluded when you select Accept and continue beside the statement that both documents are accepted.
The Privacy Policy explains data processing. It is information, not a contractual document that you accept.
Contract acceptance and access entitlement are independent. Acceptance does not create, assign, activate, buy, upgrade or downgrade an access profile. A profile only determines which functions the account is authorised to use. Ordinary assignment or replacement of a profile does not require another acceptance unless it adds new contractual duties that are not covered by this agreement.
The desktop installer or first run may also present the Desktop Software Licence for local installation and use. That local presentation does not create or change an account, access profile or payment obligation.
The base agreement is concluded for an indefinite period. Contract language is English.
3. Product boundary
In supported normal use, capture and conversion run on your PC. The raw media stream and live conversion output travel over your local network to the StereoLift Quest app. StereoLift cloud systems are not used as a relay or storage location for that raw stream.
Online services are used separately for account access, device authorisation, entitlement and usage control, security, support, updates and optional desktop diagnostics. The desktop software can verify a previously issued signed authorisation locally; internet access may still be required to obtain or renew access.
StereoLift Live may carry authorised viewing or control input between the paired app and server. It is not a public remote-access service, cloud-media host, backup service or general-purpose streaming server.
4. Technical environment, account and entitlement
You provide and operate the PC, operating system, GPU and drivers, display, storage, headset, router, local network, internet connection and other third-party components used with StereoLift Live.
Only configurations and app/server combinations identified as supported for the relevant release are within the intended product environment. Actual latency, frame rate, image quality and compatibility depend on the complete configuration. A measured or tested value applies only to the release and conditions identified with it.
Keep your email account, magic links, sessions, device credentials, pairing information, entitlement data and local network secure. Do not share or reuse them outside the product functions intended for that purpose.
StereoLift may use account status, device-bound credentials, device/server associations, signed authorisations, usage records, revocation information and security signals to apply the current access profile and prevent abuse. Linking a device, pairing a server, possessing an app or holding a technical authorisation does not create permanent access or extend the underlying access profile.
You must not create or use multiple accounts or manipulate account, device, usage, entitlement, pairing or security state to evade limits or controls.
5. Software licences
For the duration of this agreement and to the extent permitted by your current access profile, StereoLift grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the official StereoLift Quest app with the official StereoLift desktop software for private, non-commercial use.
The Quest app and desktop software are licensed, not sold. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, commercially host or provide the software or protected product access to others. The Desktop Software Licence contains the additional rules for the desktop/server software. Mandatory software-law rights remain unaffected.
6. Your responsibilities and prohibited use
You are responsible for:
- selecting content that you may lawfully capture, process, display or control;
- protecting confidential information, credentials, devices and your local network;
- maintaining appropriate backups of content, configuration and system state;
- using supported configurations and following installation, update, safety and mitigation instructions; and
- stopping use and taking reasonable steps to limit loss if a fault or unsafe condition becomes apparent.
You must not:
- violate law, third-party rights, confidentiality duties, platform rules or security policies;
- bypass or manipulate account, device, pairing, entitlement, usage, revocation, rate-limit or security controls;
- extract, publish, sell, replay or misuse credentials, keys, tokens, authorisations, pairing secrets or protected protocol information;
- attack, overload, probe or interfere with the service or another user without permission;
- expose the local server to the public internet or use unsupported clients unless StereoLift expressly documents that configuration;
- resell, rent or provide StereoLift Live as a managed or commercial service; or
- use StereoLift Live for medical, emergency, navigation, industrial-control, safety-critical or other use where failure could cause serious harm.
VR use can cause discomfort, dizziness, eye strain, disorientation or fatigue. Use the product in a safe environment, maintain awareness of your surroundings, take breaks and follow Meta’s device safety instructions. Stop using it if discomfort occurs.
7. Free profile
A Free profile carries no current payment obligation. It is a configurable access profile, not a promise of permanent, unlimited or lifetime access and not a separate contract or activation state.
Unless StereoLift expressly promises a fixed feature or limit for a stated period, StereoLift may prospectively add, replace, reduce or remove Free features, usage or device limits, supported modes and configurations, online or offline access periods and support options where reasonably justified by:
- security, fraud or abuse prevention;
- legal, regulatory or platform requirements;
- changes to operating systems, drivers, Meta services or other third-party components;
- compatibility, reliability, technical development or service simplification;
- capacity constraints, increased use or material operating-cost changes; or
- restructuring reasonably needed to maintain a viable Free offering.
A change must be reasonable in light of the interests of affected users. StereoLift will give clear advance notice of a material adverse change where practicable. An urgent security, abuse, legal, platform or material technical measure may take effect immediately, with information afterwards where reasonable and safe.
Changes apply only prospectively. Past Free use does not become chargeable. A user does not become a subscriber through silence, continued use or an existing Free profile.
StereoLift may remove or discontinue a Free profile with 14 days’ notice. If no other profile remains, StereoLift may end the base agreement on the same notice. Immediate action for an important reason remains possible under section 11.
8. Paid and permanent packages, if offered
This section applies only when StereoLift actually displays a paid package for order. It does not mean that any paid package is currently available.
A paid package is ordered separately. The order summary or package schedule states the package model, principal features and limits, covered product scope, compatibility information, gross price, billing and renewal terms, start, cancellation and any withdrawal information. The existing base agreement continues to apply; it does not need to be accepted again merely because an unchanged paid package is ordered.
By selecting the final payment-order action, you submit the paid order shown there. Your paid contract is concluded once you have submitted that order and the initial payment has been successfully completed through the payment provider. Silence, continued Free use, a browser return or an unverified payment message does not establish a paid contract. Paid access starts immediately when successful payment is authoritatively verified. We provide the required contract confirmation electronically on a durable medium.
A payment provider may collect payment and provide billing-management functions. Access derived from payment depends on the current authoritative payment or subscription state. Payment failure, cancellation, withdrawal, refund, chargeback, fraud or another valid reversal may prevent, suspend or end the related package to the extent permitted by law. A signed offline authorisation is a technical access window and does not extend the underlying package.
Recurring subscription
A subscription renews only as stated in its order schedule. Cancellation stops future renewal at the time shown there; it does not create a refund for a period already supplied unless mandatory law or the offer expressly provides one.
The renewal price cannot be increased merely by silence or continued use. A new renewal price requires express agreement. StereoLift may instead end the subscription at the next contractually permitted date and offer a new package or price.
Permanent Access
A package labelled Permanent Access is a one-time-payment package with no recurring charge and no preset expiry in the account entitlement itself. A valid Permanent Access entitlement takes priority over later ordinary subscription state and is not silently replaced by a subscription.
Permanent Access covers only the product generation, principal functions, limits and other scope identified in its order schedule. It does not automatically include later product generations, separately sold features, services or support. “Permanent” describes the non-expiring entitlement record; it is not a guarantee that StereoLift, cloud services, Meta, hardware, operating systems, compatibility, updates or support will exist or remain available forever. Mandatory rights and remedies if the covered product is not supplied remain unaffected.
Manual grants
StereoLift may manually assign or replace profiles for testing, support, promotion, settlement or another legitimate purpose. An ordinary manual or Free grant remains changeable under this agreement. A grant expressly designated by StereoLift as permanent has the same terminal priority described above. A manual assignment does not create a payment obligation or require a new acceptance unless separate conditions impose new duties on you.
9. Updates, changes, availability and third parties
StereoLift may provide security, compatibility, protocol and feature updates. You must install an update within a reasonable period when StereoLift identifies it as necessary and explains the consequences of not installing it. Older or unsupported releases may stop working with current account, entitlement, platform or security functions.
For a paid digital product supplied continuously, changes beyond those needed to maintain conformity will be made only for a valid reason stated in this agreement or the package schedule, without an additional charge, and with the information and termination rights required by mandatory law. Valid reasons can include security, abuse prevention, legal or platform requirements, third-party changes, compatibility, technical development, capacity and continued economic operation of the package. A materially adverse change is subject to the applicable advance-notice and termination rules.
No uptime, response-time, support-level, compatibility-duration or feature-continuity commitment is made unless an order schedule expressly states one. Maintenance, capacity limits and events affecting third-party systems can interrupt access.
StereoLift Live depends on systems not controlled by the user or StereoLift, including Meta Quest and Meta Horizon services, operating systems, GPU drivers, networks, internet access, email infrastructure, codecs and open-source or proprietary components. StereoLift does not promise that a third party will continue a service or product. This does not reduce responsibility where a third party is legally attributable to StereoLift.
10. Optional diagnostics and support material
Desktop diagnostics upload, where offered, is optional and off by default. Local diagnostic files may exist on your device without being uploaded. The Privacy Policy and the information beside the diagnostics setting explain the processing.
If you send a support message, support bundle or report ID, you are responsible for reviewing the material and avoiding unnecessary confidential or personal information. Disabling optional diagnostics does not disable or erase account, entitlement, security, abuse-prevention or audit records used for separate purposes.
11. Suspension and ending the agreement
You may stop using StereoLift Live and end the base agreement at any time. You may request account closure through support@stereolift.live or privacy@stereolift.live. Ending the base agreement ends licences and future access under it, subject to mandatory law and any package-specific consequences.
StereoLift may suspend affected functions immediately where there are reasonable grounds to believe that credentials or devices are compromised, controls are being bypassed, the product is being abused or used unlawfully, continued access creates a material security or legal risk, or action is required by law or a platform provider. The measure will be proportionate where circumstances permit.
StereoLift may terminate for an important reason. Where the reason is a remediable breach and the circumstances permit, StereoLift will first provide a reasonable opportunity to remedy it. No prior warning is required where immediate action is justified by the seriousness or urgency of the circumstances.
A recurring paid package may also be ended by StereoLift at the end of a paid period in accordance with its order schedule. Permanent Access is not displaced by a later subscription and may be ended only as stated in its order schedule, by withdrawal, refund, chargeback or another valid payment reversal, for an important reason, or where continued supply is legally or technically impossible, in each case subject to mandatory law.
12. Your content and outputs
As between you and StereoLift, you keep any rights you have in content displayed, captured or processed through your local system and in outputs created through your use of StereoLift Live.
StereoLift does not acquire ownership of your raw desktop stream or local conversion output merely because you use the product. StereoLift does not grant you rights in third-party content or other protected material contained in your input or output. You remain responsible for lawful use.
13. Statutory rights; no voluntary guarantee
Mandatory consumer rights, including any applicable rights concerning digital products, conformity, updates, defects, remedies and data protection, remain unaffected.
StereoLift does not provide a voluntary guarantee unless a statement is expressly identified as a guarantee. Product descriptions, compatibility lists and measured targets apply only to the identified release and conditions and do not create broader promises.
14. Liability
StereoLift is liable without limitation:
- for intent and gross negligence;
- for injury to life, body or health caused by negligence;
- under the German Product Liability Act;
- where StereoLift expressly assumed a guarantee or fraudulently concealed a defect; and
- in any other case in which liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
For property damage, data loss, loss of use and other loss caused by slight negligence, StereoLift is liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation. Essential obligations are those whose performance makes proper execution of the agreement possible and on which you may regularly rely. In that case, liability is limited to loss that was foreseeable and typical for this private-use agreement when it was concluded.
StereoLift Live is not contracted for professional, commercial or safety-critical operations. Lost profit, lost revenue, business interruption and comparable professional loss are therefore not typical contractual loss under this consumer agreement.
For recoverable data loss caused by slight negligence, liability is additionally limited to the typical restoration effort that would have been required if you had maintained backups appropriate to the relevant risk.
The same limits apply to contractual and non-contractual claims and to StereoLift’s legal representatives and agents, to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory conformity and remedy rights remain separate and are not restricted by this section.
Your use of unsupported configurations, missing backups, insecure credentials or networks, ignored instructions, unlawful content or failure to mitigate loss is taken into account only to the extent that it caused or increased the loss under applicable law.
15. Changes to the agreement documents
StereoLift may correct contact details, formatting, obvious errors or wording that does not adversely change the existing agreement without requesting renewed acceptance. A new publication date or document version alone does not require renewed acceptance.
Free-profile and product changes are governed by sections 7 and 9. A material change to contractual rights or duties that is not already permitted by this agreement or mandatory law requires express acceptance. If you do not accept it, the existing agreement continues unless it is ended in accordance with section 11 and a new agreement is offered.
16. Governing law and contract access
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection that applies despite this choice remains unaffected.
No exclusive place of jurisdiction is agreed for consumers.
The current Terms, Desktop Software Licence and legal information remain available under Legal & licences.
